Director

Dr. Judith Cahn, Director of John Jay Online, has over 30 years experience in educational technology and educational leadership. Judith has helped lead educational technology ventures and has developed and taught blended and online courses in higher education. In addition, Judith has presented and published on topics in educational technology and educational psychology.  She comes to John Jay College after having served as Director of eLearning and Distance Education at Yeshiva University. She holds a Masters of Education from Harvard University and a Doctorate in Education from Yeshiva University.

Ritu Boswell

Online Enrollment Manager

Ritu also hails from Detroit, Michigan, and comes to John Jay College with more than 7 years of sales experience. After moving to New York, Ritu decided to step away from sales and become part of the higher education revolution. After obtaining her M. A. in Adult Education and Training from the University of Phoenix, Ritu worked in the private sector for over 7 years before transitioning to John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Starting as an Enrollment Advisor, Ritu was at the forefront of setting the foundation for what is now John Jay Online. In 2015, Ritu was promoted to Online Enrollment Manager. In her current position, Ritu oversees the entire enrollment, marketing, and student services process. Ritu's passion for networking and making education accessible for all students has her traveling quite a bit around the United States. Ritu is lucky to have a fantastic team to ensure that all students have the best experience, both personally and professionally, at John Jay Online.

Administrative Manager

Demy holds a Masters of Science in Education from the Baruch College Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs. She has over 20 years of experience in administration and operational management which spans the non-for-profit, health care, and retail industries. Demy comes to John Jay Online after working for six years as a Office Manager at a private institution specializing in art business education and object based learning. Demy's passion for student access to quality public education has brought her to John Jay College.

Holly Davenport

Instructional Designer

Associate Director Instructional Design

Holly is the Associate Director of Instructional Design at John Jay Online and holds a Master of Science in Educational Technology from the University of Central Missouri. Holly was previously the Director of Distance Learning at LIM College where she helped to launch the institution's first online graduate degree program. Holly began her career at the University of Central Missouri leading a team of instructional designers and technologist. Here at John Jay Online, Holly continues to collaborate with faculty to design and develop courses for degree, certificate, and professional development online programs. Holly was the lead senior Instructional Designer for CUNY's first Massive Open Online course titled "Literature and Law of American Slavery."

Caroline holds a Bachelor of Arts in corporate communications from Baruch College -CUNY. She started her career in technology as a Help Desk Support Technician, then matriculated to a Blackboard Administrator. She comes to John Jay after being the Blackboard Administrator at Baruch College for 4 years.

Brian Tomlinson

Online Faculty Training Support Specialist

Brian holds a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in political science, from Long Island University. He is the former Associate Director of the Faculty Research Center at LIU-Post, where he was responsible for creating programs and workshops to assist faculty with using technology in the classroom.

Blackboard Administrator

Helen earned a Masters of Science in education from Purdue University, where she specialized in curriculum and instruction for online education. After her start as an undergraduate student at CUNY Lehman College, Helen was on staff at the CUNY Graduate Center for over a decade before coming to John Jay College in November 2008 as the Blackboard Administrator. In her current role at John Jay Online, Helen leads the Blackboard Support Group, who supports Blackboard Administration, troubleshooting, and training for all classes at the college. In addition, Helen represented John Jay and CUNY Blackboard Administration on various CUNY Central Information Services and Central Office committees, such as the Blackboard subcommittee of the Committee for Academic Technology, the Blackboard Management Council, where Helen chairs the Blackboard Communications Taskforce, and the CUNY Blackboard Steering Committee. Helen also enjoys teaching, holding and appointment as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Public Management at John Jay.
